blake griffin wins ROY, d.rose wins season MVP, shaq retires, and the dallas mavericks redeem themselves against miami heat to capture their first ever championship. dirk and jason terry made it known that the '06 finals left a bitter taste in their mouth; i'm sure this win cleansed their palate. fellow bay area native, jason kidd, also finally earned a ring after several trips to the finals with new jersey. lastly, maybe the largest underlying story out of all this is lebron james' inability to show up in the later stages of big games. guess we'll have to wait another couple months to see how 'the king,' as well as the rest of the miami trio, respond to a title run cut short
